Tape staining and water damage

The work was removed from the mat board and cleaned, recto and verso, with eraser crumbs and a soft brush. The gummed tapes were removed from the verso. Stains were removed using the vacuum suction table. The object was humidified through a GoreTex® membrane and dried in plane under a light weight. Japanese tissue hinges were attached with wheat starch paste and the work was attached to a new acid free, lignin free mat board the same color and size of the old.
